Humaira, who had reportedly been living alone since 2018, was found dead on Tuesday after neighbors alerted authorities to a foul smell coming from her flat. Police estimate she may have passed away nearly 20 days ago, given the advanced state of decomposition. Her death has stunned the entertainment industry, already grieving the recent loss of senior actress Ayesha Khan.
Shortly after the discovery, police reached out to the actress’s family. However, officials say they were met with a cold response. Her father reportedly told police, “We have cut off ties with her long ago. Do whatever you want with her body. We will not receive it.” The reasons behind the family’s estrangement have not been publicly disclosed.
Despite the family’s stance, authorities said they are still making efforts to convince them to come forward for her final rites. “This is a matter of dignity and humanity,” a police official stated, urging the family to reconsider their decision during such a sensitive time.
In the meantime, Humaira’s body has been moved to the Chhipa morgue. Fans and fellow artists have expressed shock and sorrow over her lonely and unnoticed passing, calling for greater awareness and compassion for those suffering in silence. An investigation into the circumstances of her death remains ongoing.
