
During the day, a total of 1,673,571,032 shares worth Rs55,278,000,000 were traded. This was slightly lower in volume compared to the previous session of 1,780,973,159 shares but higher in value than Rs54,522,000,000.
A total of 486 companies traded their shares. Out of these, 208 recorded gains, 237 ended with losses, while 41 remained unchanged.
The most traded companies were K-Electric Limited with 406,344,273 shares at Rs7.38 per share, Cnergyico PK with 207,134,630 shares at Rs8.85 per share, and WorldCall Telecom with 174,061,613 shares at Rs1.76 per share.
Among the top gainers were Rafhan Maize Products Company Limited, which rose by Rs70.39 to close at Rs9,594.95, and Nestle Pakistan Limited, which jumped by Rs35.60 to close at Rs8,435.00.
The biggest losers were PIA Holding Company LimitedB, which dropped by Rs1,556.18 to close at Rs28,042.82, and Khyber Textile Mills Limited, which declined by Rs184.99 to close at Rs1,924.82.

In the futures market, 557,601,500 shares were traded compared to 477,942,000 a day earlier. The total value, however, slipped to Rs27,119,000,000 from Rs29,009,000,000. Out of 328 companies, 160 recorded gains, 163 faced losses, and 5 stayed unchanged.
The stock market showed strong confidence with the 100-index rising over 1,000 points, taking PSX beyond 159,000. Heavy trading in energy and telecom stocks led the rally, while some big names like PIA Holdings and Khyber Textile took a major hit. Analysts say investor sentiment is positive but warn that global trends and economic pressures may test the market’s momentum in the coming sessions.
