
Federal Minister for Water Resources Muhammad Mueen Watto held a meeting today with the Ambassador of Qatar to Pakistan, Ali Mubarak Ali Essa Al-Khater, to discuss regional developments and areas of mutual cooperation.
During the meeting, Minister Watto strongly condemned the recent Israeli aggression against Qatar and extended heartfelt condolences on behalf of the government and people of Pakistan. He conveyed solidarity with the Qatari nation and expressed his best wishes for their continued peace, safety, and well-being. Highlighting the historical friendship between the two nations, he noted that the people of Pakistan hold deep admiration and respect for their Qatari brothers and sisters.
Commenting on recent international developments, Minister Watto praised the decision of several European countries to recognize Palestine as a sovereign state. He called it a positive and overdue move in the pursuit of justice and long-lasting peace in the region. He reiterated Pakistan’s consistent support for the Palestinian cause and emphasized the country’s firm stance on promoting unity among Muslim nations.
The conversation also touched upon bilateral economic and labor ties. The Qatari ambassador acknowledged Pakistan’s significant contribution in the form of a skilled workforce and expressed his government’s interest in expanding labor intake from Pakistan to meet Qatar’s growing development needs. He also appreciated Pakistan’s vast natural resources and reaffirmed Qatar’s willingness to stand by Pakistan in addressing future economic and geopolitical challenges.
Minister Watto, in turn, highlighted Pakistan’s internal stability and strong civil-military leadership, referencing the nation’s firm response during its recent tensions with India. He emphasized that Pakistan remains committed to peace, but has the capability to defend itself whenever required.
