Gold prices crash in Pakistan – one tola drops by Rs2000 in a single day

KARACHI (Web Desk): Gold prices in Pakistan saw a big fall as the rate of 24-karat gold dropped by Rs2,000 per tola, settling at Rs396,800 compared to Rs398,800 a day earlier.

According to the All Pakistan Sarafa Gems and Jewellers Association, the price of 10 grams of 24-karat gold decreased by Rs1,714 to Rs340,192 from Rs341,906. Meanwhile, 10 grams of 22-karat gold slipped by Rs1,571 to Rs311,854 from Rs313,425.

In the international market, gold also went down by $20, with the price sliding to $3,750 from $3,770 per ounce.

On the other hand, silver took a different route. The price of 24-karat silver rose by Rs26, reaching Rs4,663 per tola compared to Rs4,637. The 10-gram price also went up by Rs22 to Rs3,997 from Rs3,975. Globally, silver prices increased by $0.26, hitting $44.36 from $44.10 per ounce.
