In her statement, Maryam Nawaz said that more than 40,000 citizens have already benefited from Safe City Connect services. She urged the public to support the government by becoming its “eyes and ears” and to actively participate in the Punjab Safe Cities initiative.
She revealed that an incident involving the burning of crop residues in Lahore was reported through the helpline 15, and due to effective coordination, the fire was brought under control immediately. Timely action helped prevent further smog and environmental damage. She also expressed regret over a tragic incident in Lodhran, where a valuable life was lost due to an open manhole.

Maryam Nawaz said that the “Talk to Camera” AI system allows officers to check the entire camera network by asking questions in local languages. The system can detect issues in real time, including open manholes, overflowing dumpsters, and smoke-related problems.
She added that the system’s successful pilot trials have already been conducted in Lahore and Sheikhupura, and after these successful trials, the system is being expanded across Punjab. The purpose of this technology is to strengthen rapid response and further improve smart city management.
The chief minister further said that illegally occupied lands in densely populated areas have been reclaimed and transformed into beautiful recreational spaces. These areas now include green parks, playgrounds, and sports facilities for local communities. She also stated that large-scale infrastructure and beautification projects are underway across the province, and that Punjab will visibly transform within a year.
