Director General PDMA Punjab, Irfan Ali Kathia, stressed that on the special instructions of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, all commissioners and deputy commissioners must ensure strict preventive measures. Citizens have been urged not to let water accumulate, to keep their houses clean, and to adopt full protective steps against dengue.
He advised that in case of fever or any dengue symptoms, people should immediately visit a doctor. He added that all health agencies and control centers have been placed on high alert. PDMA will also monitor climate and insect data regularly to track the threat level.
Irfan Ali Kathia further said that anti-mosquito spraying, larvicide treatment, and clearing of blockages must be carried out. He called for special cooperation in flood-hit areas for relief and shelter, and asked that TV, radio, and social media be used for maximum public awareness about dengue protection.
DG PDMA emphasized that cleanliness and drainage in flood-affected camps must be ensured. He instructed that in case of any emergency, PDMA should be informed immediately and that daily situation updates should be provided to the authority.

The issuance of a dengue alert by PDMA Punjab reflects the seriousness of the looming health crisis. Seasonal changes, stagnant water, and post-flood conditions are creating an ideal environment for mosquito breeding.
The government’s focus on awareness campaigns, medical readiness, and strict cleanliness measures highlights the urgency of the situation. However, the real challenge lies in public cooperation—without community participation, even large-scale government efforts may fall short.
The use of technology, social media, and daily monitoring signals that Punjab is treating this as a potential health emergency that could escalate if ignored.
