Lead researcher Dr Sophie Paddock and her team researched people from the University of East London and Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital Foundation Trust.

Research has shown that people who use stairs instead of elevators have a significantly lower risk of heart disease.

Specifically, people who climbed stairs four or more times a day were found to have a 70 percent lower risk of heart disease.
