A total of 122 suspected cases of monkeypox have been reported across Sindh, according to the provincial health department. Officials say the situation is being closely monitored as infections continue to rise. So far, nine people have died due to the virus, while 25 cases have been confirmed through medical testing. Health authorities warn that the spread is still ongoing in several areas.
In the last 24 hours, two new suspected cases were reported, one from Karachi and another from Khairpur, showing that the virus remains active in different districts. Khairpur is currently the most affected area with 18 confirmed cases. Karachi has reported four confirmed cases, while Sukkur has recorded three cases so far.

Health officials have set up isolation wards in major hospitals across the province to treat suspected patients and prevent further spread of the infection. Special surveillance units have also been activated to handle medical samples and strengthen monitoring of new cases. Authorities are working to ensure faster detection and response.
Contact tracing teams are identifying people who may have come into contact with infected patients, including healthcare workers, to limit further transmission. Hospitals have been instructed to strictly follow sterilization procedures and improve infection control systems to protect patients and staff.
The health department has urged the public to remain cautious and seek medical help immediately if symptoms appear. Officials stressed that newborns and infants are especially vulnerable and need extra care. Authorities say efforts are being intensified to contain the outbreak, but public cooperation is essential to control the spread of the disease.
