Speaking to the media, her brother Naveed Asghar rejected claims that their parents had refused to claim her body.
“There was a perception spread in the media that our parents were not accepting the body, which is completely false. If a body is in police custody, legal procedures have to be followed. We have been in contact with both the police and Chhipa Welfare for the past three days,” he stated.
He further explained that the family had recently suffered another loss when their aunt passed away in a road accident, which added to their emotional burden.
“The sudden death of Humaira, followed by endless calls from the media, made it a very overwhelming situation for all of us,” he added.

The family has now formally received her body from Chhipa after fulfilling all legal requirements.
Ramzan Chhipa, head of the Chhipa Welfare Foundation, also stepped in to dispel the misinformation being spread online.
“Naveed Asghar has been in constant contact with me. It is wrong to say that the family was estranged. This propaganda on social media needs to stop. All daughters are precious; they belong to all of us.”
He confirmed that the Chhipa Foundation would bear the full cost of preparing and transporting Humaira’s body from Karachi to Lahore.
Addressing rumors of family conflicts, Ramzan Chhipa noted:
“Disagreements happen in every household. This is a personal family matter and shouldn’t be sensationalized.”
Naveed Asghar also acknowledged that his sister had been living independently in Karachi by choice.
“She was a self-made woman. She achieved everything through her own hard work and lived life on her own terms.”
The family has urged the public and media to respect their privacy during this painful time and avoid spreading unverified and hurtful narratives.
