Pakistani actress and model Ayesha Omar has responded to criticism surrounding her upcoming reality show Lazawal Ishq, clarifying that it is not a dating show, but rather a marriage-oriented reality program rooted in local cultural values.
In an exclusive interview, Ayesha Omar expressed disappointment over how certain media outlets have misrepresented the show’s concept. “Some platforms portrayed it as a Western-style dating show, which is completely inaccurate,” she stated.
According to Ayesha, the core objective of Lazawal Ishq is to promote meaningful conversations among young adults, help them understand relationships better, and ultimately guide them toward finding a suitable life partner. “I never called it a Pakistani dating show — it’s not about dating at all,” she emphasized. “It’s about finding a life companion through open dialogue and mutual understanding.”
She further explained that while the show’s format includes participants living together in a villa, all arrangements have been made in accordance with local cultural norms. Males and females will reside on separate floors and in separate dorms. Only the lounge, kitchen, and poolside areas are shared, where participants can interact and communicate.
Ayesha described Lazawal Ishq as a social experiment, showcasing how young people communicate, make mistakes, and learn from them in the process of building relationships. No pre-decided couples have been included; rather, the show will allow relationships to develop naturally, with marriage being the ultimate goal.
The format includes various communication-based games and tasks, designed to test compatibility, emotional intelligence, and teamwork. The show has been filmed in a luxurious villa in Turkey, adding a unique visual appeal to the viewing experience.

Lazawal Ishq will be released exclusively on YouTube, not on traditional television. The show will feature around 100 episodes, filled with competitions, alliances, conflicts, emotional highs and lows, and will ultimately conclude with the selection of a winning couple.
Ayesha Omar hopes the show sparks healthy conversations around relationships and helps shift narratives about love, compatibility, and marriage in today’s society.
