Asha Bhosle is considered one of the most popular and influential voices in the history of Indian music.

She was born on September 8, 1933, in Sangli. She was the younger sister of famous singer Lata Mangeshkar and grew up in a musical environment from a very young age. She started singing film songs early in life and quickly created her own identity.

Asha Bhosle began her artistic journey in 1943 at the age of just 10. She received classical music training from her father Dinanath Mangeshkar.

She gained fame in the 1950s and eventually became one of the most recognized playback singers in the world. Her voice was known for being lively, emotional, and extremely versatile.

During her long career, she recorded more than 12,000 songs in over 20 languages, including film songs, ghazals, qawwalis, and classical music. She also lent her voice to more than 1,000 Bollywood films.
