Megan Thee Stallion breaks silence on Klay Thompson split
The 31-year-old rapper discussed the breakup during an interview with Marie Claire. She admitted that she is not completely fine after the end of the relationship.
“I’m not pretending I’m 100 percent okay,” Megan Thee Stallion said while talking about the heartbreak.
She said the relationship was unlike anything she had experienced before.
“I ain’t never been through nothing like that in my whole life,” she said. “I’ve never, ever, ever been in a relationship like that, ever.”
The Grammy-winning rapper also said she is not thinking about starting another serious relationship anytime soon.
“So I’m definitely not worried about another one for a long time,” she said.
Megan Thee Stallion described the breakup as extremely sudden and said she has not fully recovered from the shock.
“It was so abrupt. I’m in shock still,” she said.
She also explained why she now feels that ending the relationship was necessary for her.
“When something is meant for you, it’s gonna be easy. It’s gonna be right,” she said. “It’s not gonna feel like a panic all the time.”
The rapper said she had spent much of the relationship feeling anxious and constantly on edge.
“I feel like that’s what I was in, constantly on edge,” she added.
Megan said the breakup also affected her physically. She explained that she needed time to calm herself and deal with her emotions instead of trying to move on too quickly.

“My nervous system needed to calm down. I feel like I was in a panic 24/7,” she said.
She added that she is still struggling to eat normally and is allowing herself to experience her emotions instead of hiding them.
“I’m still not eating all the way right. I’m feeling all the feelings. I’m not trying to take no shortcuts,” she said.
Megan and Klay Thompson ended their relationship in April 2026 after dating for less than a year. Their split drew widespread attention because both are well-known figures in music and sports.
