Web Desk: Kate Hudson has opened up about her wedding plans with fiancé Danny Fujikawa and revealed why the couple is not rushing to marry.

Hollywood actress Kate Hudson has revealed that she and fiancé Danny Fujikawa have no immediate plans to get married, despite being engaged for several years.

The Song Sung Blue actress, 47, discussed the subject during a recent episode of her Sibling Rivalry podcast with her brother Oliver Hudson.

Kate has been dating musician Danny, 40, since 2017. The couple became engaged in 2021 and share a seven-year-old daughter, Rani, who was born in October 2018.

Why Kate is avoiding a big wedding

Kate explained that money and the size of the guest list are among the main reasons she is not eager to get married.

“That’s part of why I don’t want to get married—it’s too expensive,” she said. “I just want hors d’oeuvres. I wanna do, like, chips and salsa.”

While discussing the possibility of a wedding, Kate said the couple often finds it difficult to decide how many people they should invite.

“I still am not married. I’m just engaged, and I keep thinking about wedding, like what are we gonna do,” she explained.

She said Danny prefers the idea of having a small wedding, but their families alone make that difficult.

“And then every time we start thinking about who we have to invite, Danny’s like, ‘I just want a small wedding.’ I’m like, ‘Our family alone is like 50 people.’”

“There’s a million kids,” she added. “There’s a million uncles and aunts and cousins.”

Kate’s family makes things complicated

Kate is also a mother to two sons from previous relationships.

She shares 22-year-old son Ryder with former husband Chris Robinson and 15-year-old son Bingham with former fiancé Matt Bellamy.

With a large extended family and several children involved, Kate suggested that keeping the ceremony small would be harder than it sounds.

For now, the couple appears comfortable with their engagement without setting a wedding date.

Oliver Hudson shares his wedding experience

Kate’s brother Oliver Hudson also shared his own thoughts about weddings during the podcast.

Oliver, 50, married Erinn Bartlett in Mexico in 2006. Their ceremony had only 80 guests.

“My wedding was controversial with my wife, because we did it in Mexico,” he recalled.

He explained that he did not want to meet anyone for the first time at his wedding.

“We only had 80 people. I did not want to meet anyone at my wedding for the first time. So, I said to Erin, ‘Look, your girlfriends from high school—I get it, they’re your girlfriends, but, I’m sorry, the husbands can’t come.'”

“Maybe I’m an a–hole,” Oliver continued, “but I don’t want to be like, ‘Congratulations,’ ‘Hi, what’s your name? Doug? Really nice to meet you.'”

Could marriage still happen?

Kate has spoken about the subject before.

In an interview last year, she admitted that she and Danny may never actually get married.

For now, the couple appears happy with their current arrangement.

There is no wedding venue, no large guest list and, most importantly for Kate, no huge catering bill on the horizon.
