Web Desk: Mehwish Hayat has criticized Priyanka Chopra for her approach to celebrity activism, stressing that stars must act responsibly when using their influence.

The Pakistani actor spoke after Chopra faced backlash for a pro-war tweet and her response to a fan at Beauty Con, where the young woman’s mic was taken away by security. Chopra reportedly dismissed the fan, saying, “Whenever you're done venting. Got it, done? Okay cool.”

In a detailed op-ed, Hayat explained that celebrity activism should focus on humanitarian causes. She noted that Chopra, as a UNICEF ambassador, should avoid political statements that could mislead or divide people.

Hayat highlighted that such actions show how celebrity activism can be misused, even unintentionally.

Hayat added that while Chopra’s actions did draw attention to issues like the Kashmir crisis, the approach was flawed. She emphasized that celebrities must be aware of their social responsibility and use their influence carefully to promote peace and understanding.
