(Web Desk): ‘Avatar: Fire and Ash’ has impressed the press with its technical ambition and visual spectacle ahead of its release.

Ahead of its much-anticipated release on 19 December, the third installment of ‘Avatar: Fire and Ash’ has already left critics dazzled by its ambition and technical prowess.

Early screenings to the film press have prompted a wave of praise from film journalists, who call the movie a “staggering achievement of movie making”.

Reviewers highlight the film is ‘ultimate cinematic spectacle’, with some saying it reminds audiences ‘what movie theatres were built for’.

According to a correspondent from Collider, the film “truly feels like a ride”, pulling viewers back into the world of Pandora with mesmerizing detail and emotional weight.

Another critic noted a marked increase in complexity across the production while story wise some familiar themes return, the graphic effects, world-building and immersive visuals set a benchmark.  

Set years after the events of Avatar: The Way of Water, the film follows the Sully family as they navigate grief and face a new threat from the volcanic dwelling Ash people under a vengeful new leader.

Returning cast members such as Sam Worthington, Zoe Saldana, Sigourney Weaver, Stephen Lang and Kate Winslet reprise their roles, alongside fresh faces that anchor the film’s expanded universe.
