The premiere of “Stranger Things” final season triggered a massive crash on streaming giant Netflix as millions of fans tried to watch the first four episodes simultaneously.
According to outage-tracking site Down Detector, reports of service disruption soared to around 14,290 shortly after the release, before dropping below 800 by 8:45 pm ET.
Many users especially on TV devices saw error message such as “Something went wrong” or “NSES-403”, while others reported playback failures or login problems.
Though the platform had reportedly boosted bandwidth by 30% in anticipation of the surge, the demand still exceeded capacity.
In an official statement, Netflix confirmed that while some members experienced brief disruptions, the service recovered for all accounts within five minutes.
Nevertheless, the outage sparked frustration among fans, many of whom vented their disappointment on social media.
