Nimra Khan divorce takes new turn after Zain Hamid statement

Hamid, described as Khan’s ex-husband, reportedly shared the statement through an Instagram story that was later removed. His Instagram account is now private, according to the report.

He said the divorce took place on July 17 because of “irreconcilable personal differences [and] choices”. He also said he did not want to blame either side for the separation.

According to screenshots reportedly taken from Hamid’s Instagram story, he said the legal process to end the marriage had already started.

He claimed lawyers from both sides were involved in the required proceedings after the filing. Hamid also said that the couple had separated amicably and wished Khan “nothing but [the] best”.

The statement came weeks after speculation about the couple’s relationship. Khan had announced her marriage to Hamid in May this year.

Khan has not publicly given a detailed statement about the reported divorce. A request for comment was also sent to her representative.

The claims have attracted significant attention because the marriage was announced only a few months before the reported separation. The circumstances surrounding the breakup have also led to discussion across social media.

Fiza Ali reacts to the divorce announcement

Actor Fiza Ali later responded to Hamid’s announcement in a video shared on Instagram. She questioned why the divorce had been repeatedly discussed publicly and said the matter should have been handled with greater privacy.

“How many more times must you announce [your divorce], how many mosques do you want to get it announced from, how many sermons would you like it mentioned in? Would it satisfy you to have it addressed in Parliament?” Ali said.

She added that divorce was not something to display publicly and said Hamid’s repeated references to the separation were unnecessary.

Ali also referred to a recent social media post by Hamid that reportedly carried the caption “finally at peace. Good riddance”. The post was later deleted.

Hamid’s now-unavailable divorce statement reportedly said those remarks were connected to what he described as “uncalled for social media posts [and] status updates for attention”.

He did not identify the person he was referring to in that statement.

Actor urges dignity after separation

Ali clarified that she was not taking a position on the divorce itself because the matter belonged to Khan and Hamid.

However, she criticised what she described as the public humiliation of Khan after the couple went their separate ways. She said Khan’s decision to remain largely silent should not be viewed as weakness.

According to Ali, staying quiet could instead reflect dignity during a difficult personal situation. She also referred to Islamic teachings about treating former spouses with respect after separation.

Ali said, “manliness does not lie in divorce, manliness lies in upholding a woman’s respect even after divorce”.

She also encouraged Khan to remain strong and maintain her dignity despite the public attention surrounding the issue.

Her message focused on keeping personal disagreements from damaging either person’s reputation.

Khan remains largely silent

Khan later responded to Ali’s video with emojis that appeared to express sadness and emotional pain. She did not provide a detailed explanation of the reported separation.

The limited public response from Khan has left many details about the marriage and its ending unclear. At present, the claims about the legal process and the reasons for the separation come primarily from Hamid’s reported statement.

The couple’s brief marriage has therefore become a widely discussed entertainment story, with social media reactions adding further attention.
