Meesha Shafi’s lawyer moves to dismiss Ali Zafar’s defamation suit.
Web Desk: Meesha Shafi’s lawyer asked a Lahore sessions court to dismiss Ali Zafar’s defamation suit, calling for rejection with costs.

Advocate Saqib Jilani argued that no concrete evidence supports Ali Zafar’s claim. He said Meesha had consistently reported sexual harassment incidents and maintained her statements, even under detailed cross-examination.

The lawyer emphasized that Meesha initially tried private resolution, but public discussion became necessary.

Ali Zafar’s team, led by Advocate Umar Tariq Gill, argued that Meesha’s sexual harassment allegations harmed Zafar’s reputation and no one else had accused him. He claimed the defamation had caused serious distress to Zafar and his family.

The court hearing was adjourned till Thursday, with Judge Asif Hayat Bajwa likely to reserve judgment after reviewing citations.

In his defamation suit, Ali Zafar demands Rs1,000,000,000 in damages, citing the 2018 allegations as the cause of public humiliation.
