Ali Zafar’s team, led by Advocate Umar Tariq Gill, argued that Meesha’s sexual harassment allegations harmed Zafar’s reputation and no one else had accused him. He claimed the defamation had caused serious distress to Zafar and his family.
The court hearing was adjourned till Thursday, with Judge Asif Hayat Bajwa likely to reserve judgment after reviewing citations.
In his defamation suit, Ali Zafar demands Rs1,000,000,000 in damages, citing the 2018 allegations as the cause of public humiliation.
