Pakistani actress Hira Khan has again responded to the ongoing discussion surrounding Saba Faisal’s comments about divorce.
Hira shared a detailed statement on Instagram without directly naming Saba. However, her message came shortly after the Saba Faisal divorce remarks went viral on social media.
The actress spoke about women’s dignity, safety and their right to leave marriages that become difficult or unbearable.
“In a country in fact, a subcontinent where women are burned to death every day because they chose to remain in marriages they should have been allowed to leave alive; where infants are raped and tortured, and women and children aren't even safe in their graves, it is astonishing that there are still people on social media who find endless reasons to police, shame, and condemn women,” Hira wrote.
‘No one celebrates divorce’
Hira said divorce should not be considered something to celebrate. However, she stressed that women have the right to seek separation when a marriage becomes a source of suffering.
“No one celebrates divorce. But even Allah gave a woman the right to seek khula. God does not ask you to remain in suffering simply for the sake of preserving a marriage. He asks you to stand up for your rights, speak your truth, and then have sabr,” she stated.
She also referred to the age difference between herself and the person whose comments she was addressing.

“I’m half your age, yet I understand this much. Perhaps I was raised to understand that a woman's dignity, safety, and right to choose matter. And honestly, it isn't your fault that you weren't,” she added.
The latest remarks have added another chapter to the Hira Khan and Saba Faisal dispute, which has attracted considerable attention on social media.

Hira had already shared another strong message before her latest statement.
“Janazay uthanay se behtar hain maa baap apne sir jhuka lein. Honestly, I have said it before and I will say it again - she needs help” she wrote.
The Urdu portion of the post conveyed the idea that parents should accept a difficult situation rather than eventually face the pain of carrying their child’s funeral bier.
Hira also repeated her earlier position and ended the message by saying that “she needs help.”
The latest Saba Faisal divorce remarks have therefore led to further discussion about how Pakistani society views separation and women’s choices.

The discussion began after a viral video in which Saba Faisal spoke about changing attitudes towards divorce across generations.
Saba recalled that in the past, divorce within a family was treated as a serious matter, with relatives observing a period of mourning.
“Families mein jab divorce hoti thi to sog manaya jata tha, do, teen mahine sog hota tha,” Saba said.
She also described the shame traditionally associated with divorce and said a father would feel unable to raise his head.
“Ye nahi hona chahiye tha. Baap sar nahi uthata tha sharam se,” she remarked.
Saba then compared that attitude with what she described as a more casual approach to divorce today.
She gave an example of a woman saying, “Meri to divorce ho gayi hai, teen mahine ho gaye hain,” before travelling abroad and returning after clearing her mind.
“Ab to ye halaat hain. Ye cheezein to kharabi ki taraf hain,” Saba concluded.
