In a video message posted on social media, Samiya Hijab named the accused as Hassan Zahid, stating that she had ended their engagement after finding out his "real nature."

She stated that Zahid had been harassing her for a few days, stalking her, and attempting to put pressure on her by sending her gifts.

Zahid was accused of attempting to kidnap Samiya near her house in the federal capital on August 31, at about 6:30 pm. The incident, which was recorded on CCTV, gained popularity on social media instantly and ensured rapid police action. An FIR was registered at Shalimar Police Station, and he was taken into custody.

But in a major turn of events, Additional District and Sessions Judge Amir Zia has granted bail to Zahid in the abducting a minor case on sureties of Rs. 20,000. The court directed that the suspect should be available for investigation. Authorities have confirmed that Zahid is also placed under physical remand for five days in another case filed at Shalimar Police Station.
