Court rejects Amna Urooj’s bail plea in Khalil-ur-Rehman Qamar case
LAHORE: (Web Desk) An anti-terrorism court (ATC) on Wednesday rejected the post-arrest bail plea of Amna Urooj, a suspect in the Khalil-ur-Rehman Qamar honey trap case.

ATC judge Arshad Javed heard the case and rejected the bail plea of Amna Urooj, seeking release from police custody.

Advocates Zain Ali Qureshi and Mudassir Chaudhry represented Khalil-ur-Rehman Qamar in the court and presented their arguments which led to the rejection of Amna Urooj’s bail.

It is to be noted here that police busted a gang including four women and five men involved in honey trapping famous playwright Khalilur Rehman Qamar and robbing him of cash and other valuables.

According to police sources, the accused were involved in extorting money by honey trapping famous and wealthy personalities. The Organised Crime Unit of Model Town police arrested the accused.

Among the arrested suspects was Amina Urooj who spoke to Khalilur Rehman Qamar on the phone and called him to her house on the pretense of making a play.

Khalilur Rehman was in her house when seven to eight armed men came. They blindfolded him and tortured him.

The accused forced the playwright into a car and abducted him. They demanded $10 million to release him and also withdrew Rs260,000 from his ATM card at gunpoint. They also snatched cash, a wallet, a cell phone and a valuable watch from him.

According to police, the accused have honey trapped many people in the city. A few members of the gang were arrested in Lahore while the rest were arrested from other cities.
