(Web Desk): Bollywood’s beloved actor Dharmendra, affectionately known as Dharam Paaji, has died today at the age of 89.

The veteran Indian star, also known as He-Man of the industry passed away today at his residence in Mumbai after suffering from severe respiratory issues for several weeks.

Earlier today, an ambulance arrived at his residence with high security, and shortly after this, the sources confirmed the heartbreaking news of his passing.

This marks his second major health scare within a month. Dharmendra would have turned 90 on December 8.

Recently, he was admitted in Breach Candy Hospital where he was discharged when doctors stated he was satisfied from his treatment and is in stable condition.

Dharmendra Singh Deol, born in 1935, made his film debut in 1960 and went on to appear in more than 300 films.

He was one of the rare actors who excelled in every genre, from romance to high-octane action roles.

His character, Veeru in Sholay remains one of the most iconic characters in what is widely regarded as India’s greatest film.

Some of his other unforgettable movies include Phool Aur Patthar, Seeta Aur Geeta, Chupke Chupke, Dharam Veer, Pratigya, Mera Gaon Mera Desh, Jugnu, Yaadon Ki Baaraat, Dillagi, The Burning Train, Ghulami, Hukumat, Aag Hi Aag, and many more

Dharmendra’s final film was Ikkis, in which he played the role of Agastya Nanda’s grandfather.

He also has received numerous awards throughout his career, including the Filmfare Lifetime Achievement Award in 1997 and the Padma Bhushan from the Government of India in 2012.

Dharmendra is survived by his wife Hema Malini, his first wife Prakash Kaur, his sons Sunny Deol and Bobby Deol, and his daughters Esha Deol and Ahana Deol.

His passing marks the end of an era in Indian cinema. His charm, humility, and cinematic brilliance will continue to inspire generations.
