The arrest follows a complaint filed by a woman who accused Kapoor of sexually assaulting her during a house party in Delhi in early August .

According to authorities, the victim claimed that Kapoor assaulted her inside a washroom at the party, prompting an FIR at the Civil Lines police station in Delhi on August 11 . She initially named several individuals—including Kapoor’s friend, his friend’s wife, and two unidentified persons—but later revised her statement, alleging that Kapoor alone was responsible .

Despite her claim that the incident was recorded, police have so far found no video evidence. Reports indicate he was first traced to Goa before being apprehended in Pune .

Ashish Kapoor, born on October 17, 1984, is a well-known figure in Indian television. Investigation is still underway and the police are seeking legal counsel while gathering further evidence
