Around 10:30–11:00 pm, 42-year old Asif asked two teenage neighbors—Ujjwal (19) and Gautam (18)—to move their scooter parked in front of his house. What started as a request quickly escalated into a poisonous altercation. 

CCTV footage released of the assault shows the two attackers violently pushing Asif and ultimately stabbing him in the chest with a sharp object, described by police as a shiv or a “paper punch needle.” 

Asif was rushed to the hospital but was declared dead on arrival.

Shaheen Aasif Qureshi, Asif’s wife, shared: “At around 9:30‑10 pm, a neighbour parked a scooter right outside our house. My husband asked him to move it. The man abused Asif and threatened to come back. Minutes later they attacked him. By the time help arrived, Asif had lost a lot of blood.” 

Saleem Qureshi, Huma’s father, said: “Two men parked a scooter in front of the house. Asif asked them not to block the entrance. They returned and killed my nephew.” 

The accused brothers were arrested shortly after the incident in the same neighborhood, and the alleged murder weapon was recovered. 

A case has been registered at the Hazrat Nizamuddin police station under sections 103(1) (murder) and 3(5) (common intention) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.  According to police and neighbors, the accused had a history of conflict with Asif, with at least one prior incident three months earlier. They were known in the area for having short tempers and frequent.

This incident has sparked discussion about how ordinary disagreement can turn into life altering violence. It has gained national attention and fans across India have expressed their grievances and extended their prayers to the victim’s family.
