(Web Desk): Petrol prices in Pakistan are expected to decrease starting October 16, offering relief to consumers amid rising fuel costs.

Petroleum prices in Pakistan are set for a notable decrease beginning October 16, 2025, according to reliable sources familiar with the matter.

Industry insiders revealed that the price of petrol is expected to decline by approximately Rs. 6.10 per litre, while the cost of high-speed diesel (HSD) may reduce by around 97 paisa per litre. Additionally, kerosene prices are projected to fall by Rs. 2.75 per litre, and light diesel oil (LDO) is likely to become cheaper by about Rs. 1.64 per litre.

The petroleum sector has completed its price revision calculations and formally submitted them to the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA). OGRA is currently preparing a summary of the recommended price adjustments to forward to the Petroleum Division.

The Petroleum Division will then send the proposed changes to the Ministry of Finance for review. Final approval is expected after consultations with the Prime Minister of Pakistan, with an official announcement anticipated tomorrow.
