The Petroleum Division issued a new notification revising prices of petroleum products. According to the notification, the price of petrol has been reduced by Rs10.28 per litre, while high-speed diesel has been made cheaper by Rs8.57 per litre.

Following the reduction, the new price of petrol has been fixed at Rs253.17 per litre, while the new price of high-speed diesel has been set at Rs257.08 per litre.
The notification stated that the revised prices will take effect from tonight at 12 midnight, starting January 1, 2026, and will remain valid for the next 15 days.
The price cut comes after a sharp decline in global oil markets. International petrol prices fell from $75.05 per barrel to $69.73 per barrel, showing a decrease of $5.32 per barrel.

At the domestic level, the ex-refinery price of petrol dropped by Rs11 per litre to Rs145.66 per litre, compared to Rs156.66 per litre recorded in mid-December.
Similarly, global diesel prices also declined by $4.35 per barrel. International diesel rates dropped from $84.27 per barrel to $79.92 per barrel.
In Pakistan, the ex-refinery price of diesel decreased by Rs9.57 per litre, bringing it down from Rs164.92 per litre to Rs155.35 per litre.
The fuel price cut offers short-term relief to consumers. Lower global oil prices helped create this space. The move may ease transport and inflation pressure at the start of 2026.
