Fauji Fertilizer Company (FFC) has announced that its Board of Directors approved participation in a bidding consortium led by Arif Habib Corporation Limited for the privatisation of Pakistan International Airlines Corporation Limited (PIACL). The consortium emerged as the highest-ranked bidder on December 23, 2025, marking a crucial milestone in the government’s ongoing privatisation process.

FFC Authorized to Acquire Equity Stake

According to official sources, FFC has been authorized to execute all necessary agreements and documentation to acquire an equity stake in PIA. The transaction, however, remains contingent upon regulatory approvals and the fulfillment of standard conditions precedent. Authorities emphasized that this move is part of a strategic effort to diversify FFC’s investment portfolio while supporting the restructuring of the national airline under private sector leadership.
