The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) has announced a reduction in imported LNG (Liquefied Natural Gas) prices for January 2026, aiming to provide direct financial relief to consumers and improve affordability.
Under the new notification, the price of imported LNG for the Sui Northern Gas Pipeline system has been reduced by $0.55 per MMBTU, bringing the new rate to $11.27 per MMBTU. For the Sui Southern Gas Company, prices have been decreased by $0.56 per MMBTU, setting the new price at $10.21 per MMBTU.

OGRA stated that this price reduction will immediately benefit consumers by lowering gas bills and reducing expenses for residential and commercial users. The authority emphasized that the move ensures transparency and fair pricing in the gas market.
Experts attribute the price reduction to a combination of falling global LNG market prices and increased domestic gas supply. Industry analysts say that the move will stabilize the energy sector and improve affordability for households and businesses across Pakistan.
Consumers are advised to adopt efficient gas usage practices to maximize savings under the revised rates. The decision is expected to have a visible impact on bills for both Sui Northern and Sui Southern customers immediately.
