Gold price in Pakistan drops for seventh day, silver also falls
The latest decline has extended a sharp downward trend in the local bullion market. The fall also came alongside another major drop in international gold prices.
According to the All Pakistan Sarafa Gems and Jewellers Association, the price of 24-karat gold decreased by Rs11,300 per tola.
Following the latest reduction, one tola of 24-karat gold is now available at Rs454,036. The continued decline has attracted attention from buyers and investors tracking daily bullion rates.
24-karat gold price falls sharply
The decline was also visible in the price of gold sold by weight. Ten grams of 24-karat gold became Rs9,688 cheaper during the latest session.
After the reduction, the price of 10 grams of 24-karat gold reached Rs389,262. This marks another significant move in the domestic market after gold prices continued to fall for seven consecutive sessions.
The price of 22-karat gold also moved lower. Ten grams of 22-karat gold declined by Rs8,881 and reached Rs356,836.
The latest figures show that the decline is not limited to one gold category. Both 24-karat and 22-karat rates recorded noticeable reductions in Pakistan.
For consumers, the continued fall could provide some relief to people planning to purchase jewellery. However, investors may remain cautious because international bullion prices can quickly influence the domestic market.
International gold prices also tumble
The weakness in Pakistan’s gold market followed a substantial decline in international bullion prices. Global gold prices fell by $113 during the latest trading session.
Following the drop, international gold was trading at around $4,315 per ounce. The movement indicates that the pressure on local gold prices is also linked to developments in the global bullion market.
International gold prices are closely watched in Pakistan because changes in global rates can affect domestic bullion prices. Local rates can also be influenced by currency movements and domestic market conditions.
The latest seven-day decline therefore gives buyers and investors another reason to monitor upcoming price updates closely. A continued international decline could put further pressure on local rates, although prices can change quickly.

Silver prices decline alongside gold
Silver prices also moved lower in Pakistan during the latest session. The price of 24-karat silver declined by Rs270.
After the reduction, one tola of 24-karat silver reached Rs6,859. The decline shows that the weakness in the bullion market was not limited to gold.
The price of 10 grams of silver also fell, according to the latest market figures. It declined by Rs231 to reach Rs5,880.
The simultaneous movement in gold and silver provides another indication of broader weakness in precious metals during the session.
For jewellery buyers, the lower rates may make purchases more affordable than they were during the recent period of higher prices. However, consumers may still want to check the latest rate before making a purchase because bullion prices can change daily.
What the latest fall means for buyers
The seven-day decline has created a notable change in the local gold market. The price of 24-karat gold is now significantly lower after another Rs11,300 reduction in the latest session.
For ordinary buyers, the current trend could be important if they have been waiting for an opportunity to purchase gold at a lower price. Jewellery prices, however, can differ from the basic bullion rate because making charges and other costs are added.
Investors are likely to focus on whether the decline continues or the market begins to recover. International prices will remain an important factor in determining the direction of local rates.
The sharp fall in international gold prices has also increased uncertainty around the short-term outlook. If global bullion prices remain under pressure, Pakistan’s local market could continue to experience fluctuations.
At the same time, a recovery in international rates could quickly change the direction of the domestic market. This makes the next few trading sessions particularly important for buyers, sellers and investors.
