Diesel price tops Rs400 per litre, petrol also becomes costlier
Global oil fluctuations trigger increase
The government increased fuel prices in response to recent market changes across international markets. Higher global petroleum trends directly forced local authorities to revise domestic pricing structures.
New petroleum prices officially announced
Petrol now costs Rs375,82 per litre after receiving a Rs5,02 hike from authorities. Meanwhile, high-speed diesel rose by Rs5,28 per litre, reaching a new record level.
Updated rates valid until September 14
The revised pricing structure was formally announced by the Petroleum Division through an official notification. Consumers will pay these new figures at filling stations across the nation until September 14.
Daily tracking system implemented online
Ogra has started publishing daily petroleum rates on its official website to enhance market clarity. Petroleum Minister Ali Pervaiz Malik said, “the daily prices are based on a seven-day average of international market prices, in line with international practice.”
Rising fuel costs will likely increase transport charges and push up everyday commodity prices nationwide. Passing global oil changes directly to local consumers keeps market prices close to international trends.
