Meanwhile, according to the State Bank of Pakistan, on the first day of the business week, the price of the dollar in the open market stood at Rs281.17.

In the stock market, the 100 Index rose by 573 points, closing at 115,845 points. The total trading volume was 67.5 million shares, with business deals worth Rs37.53 billion.

Investors earned a profit of Rs7.5 billion, pushing the total value of shares to Rs14.319 trillion.

On the other hand, the price of gold increased by Rs 500, with one tola of gold now priced at Rs282,900.
