ISLAMABAD: (Web Desk) Following a continuous decline in global crude oil prices, a significant reductions in petrol and diesel prices are expected in Pakistan.

As per sources, the government is considering lowering petroleum product prices to provide relief to the public, with potential implementation from April 16, 2025.

A reduction of up to Rs12 per litre in petrol price is expected, decreasing the current price from Rs254.63 to approximately Rs242 per litre.

The diesel prices is expected to witness a major reduction, from Rs258.64 down to around Rs250 per litre.

These potential price adjustments are primarily attributed to the recent downturn in global crude oil prices.

The International Monetary Fund (IMF) has reportedly urged the Pakistani government to increase petrol prices by up to Rs53 per litre.

If the government proceeds with the proposed price reductions, it would offer substantial relief to consumers burdened by inflation.
