GUJRANWALA (Web Desk): Local residents have been hit with another wave of inflation, as milk and yogurt prices climb higher once again. The price of milk has now been fixed at Rs210 per liter, while yogurt has jumped to Rs250 per kilogram.

Shopkeepers explained that the recent floods destroyed a large number of cattle, sharply reducing milk production. With supply shrinking and demand rising, price hikes became unavoidable. They also revealed that the cost of animal feed and livestock care has increased drastically, directly adding pressure to milk and yogurt prices.

Citizens, however, are deeply worried. They said that daily food items are already beyond the reach of ordinary people, and now even essential products like milk and yogurt are slipping away. Many urged the government to take immediate steps to control inflation.

Economists have warned that if the situation continues, other dairy products such as butter, cheese, and sweets will also see sharp increases in the coming days. Public voices are demanding urgent policies to stabilize dairy costs and provide relief to struggling households.

This sudden hike in dairy prices shows how fragile supply chains are in Pakistan. Floods damaged livestock, costs rose, and the people are paying the price. Without urgent action, daily food will keep slipping away from ordinary families.
