Gold prices reach all-time high in local market

KARACHI: (Web Desk) Gold prices on Thursday reached a historic high after witnessing a significant increase in the local market.

According to the All Pakistan Gem Merchants and Jewellers Association (APGMJA), the gold price rose by Rs4,600 to Rs254,000 per tola. Similarly, the price of 10 grams of gold rose by Rs3,944 to Rs217,764.

In the international market, the price of gold rose by $60 to $2,450 per ounce.

The previous week, gold prices in Pakistani and international markets increased as investors sought out safe havens amid ongoing geopolitical uncertainty in the Middle East.

In the local market, the price of yellow metal increased by Rs2,200 to Rs249,000 per tola on Friday (July 12).

Similarly, the price of 10 grams of 24-karat gold increased by Rs1,886 to Rs213,477, as per the Sindh Sarafa Gems and Jewellers Association.

The prices of one tola and 10 grams of silver remained unchanged at Rs2,900 and Rs2,486.28, respectively.
