KARACHI (Web Desk): The price of 24 karat gold has taken a massive leap, shocking jewellery buyers across Pakistan. Rates shot up by Rs5,100 in a single day, reaching Rs398,800 per tola from Rs393,700.

Not just that, the price of 10 grams of 24 karat gold also climbed sharply. It rose by Rs4,372 and touched Rs341,906, compared to the earlier Rs337,534. Meanwhile, 10 grams of 22 karat gold surged to Rs313,425 from Rs309,517.

Silver too joined the rally, surprising many. Per tola silver spiked by Rs42 to close at Rs4,637, while 10 grams silver jumped Rs36 to Rs3,975.

The international market mirrored this upward trend. Gold prices gained a hefty $51 and settled at $3,770 per ounce. Silver also inched higher to $44.10 after a $0.42 increase.
