LAHORE: (Web Desk) The Punjab government has decided to impose a ban on the export of chicks to slash exorbitant chicken prices.
As per official sources, the decision to ban chicks’ exports was taken considering the increasing prices of chicken which is one of the most consumed products in the country for being a popular protein source.
Recently, chicken rates in Pakistan surged to a record high, making people urge the government to ensure effective measures to control the prices.
Informed sources say that the Livestock Department has sent the summary for the ban to the Punjab government. If imposed, the ban can reduce the chicken price by Rs200 per kg.
