New airline South Air’s aircraft lands in Pakistan ahead of June 2026 launch

The airline’s first ATR 72-500 aircraft officially reached the country this week. Its arrival marks a major milestone as the new carrier prepares to begin operations in Pakistan.

Chief of Army Staff Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir will be the chief guest at the ceremony. He will be accompanied by Chief of Air Staff Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Babar Sidhu and Chief of Naval Staff Admiral Naveed Ashraf.

As part of the commemorative proceedings, tributes will be paid at the Martyrs’ Memorial “Yadgar-e-Shuhada”. Wreaths will be laid in honour of the sacrifices made by the nation’s martyrs.

Smartly turned-out contingents from the Pakistan Army, Pakistan Air Force and Pakistan Navy will present a guard of honour. The ceremony will reflect national respect for the armed forces.
