(Web Desk): Solar panel dealers have halted new stock purchases after a sharp fall in prices caused heavy losses and increased uncertainty in the market.

The solar market in Chiniot has witnessed significant turbulence in recent weeks. Dealers reported that sudden price declines left them struggling with financial losses, forcing many of them to stop ordering fresh inventory until market conditions become more predictable.

According to dealers, the value of each solar panel dropped by nearly Rs5,000 within a short period. Earlier, expectations of higher taxes in the federal budget had pushed prices upward, but the market later reversed course when conditions stabilized, creating confusion for traders and investors.

The rapid decline in prices has also affected the availability of products in some shops. Many dealers are now avoiding new purchases because they fear additional price changes could result in even greater losses.

Market participants say uncertainty remains the biggest challenge. Dealers are closely monitoring developments and believe more price fluctuations may occur in the coming weeks, making it difficult for businesses to plan ahead.

They have urged authorities to take steps to improve stability in the solar supply chain. Dealers warned that continued volatility could slow business activity and create difficulties for small traders who rely on consistent pricing to manage their operations.

Customers have also changed their buying habits due to the falling prices. Many potential buyers are delaying purchases in the hope that solar panels will become even cheaper, reducing immediate demand and adding further pressure on dealers.

The situation has created a wait-and-see environment in the market. While consumers hope for lower prices, traders remain concerned that ongoing uncertainty could continue to affect sales and inventory decisions.

Solar panel prices are falling, which is good for buyers. However, dealers are facing losses and becoming cautious. If prices continue to change rapidly, both businesses and customers may remain uncertain, slowing activity in the market.
