Petrol price moves up by Rs9.66 per litre on ‘IMF dictation’

ISLAMABAD: The price of petrol has moved up by Rs9.66 per litre and reached at Rs289.41 per litre for the next 15 days, as per a notification issued by the Finance Division.
The government had to increase the petrol price after International Monetary Fund had asked it to impose 18 percent General Sales Tax (GST) on fuel products.
On the other side, the government has decreased the price of high speed diesel (HSD) by Rs3.32 a litre. The new price of diesel is now Rs282.24 per litre, according to the notification.
The government revises petroleum prices every fortnight in accordance with global prices.
