Rupchand Manhar, who sought the loan to expand his poultry business, claims the manager took a 10% cut from the chicken s value. Despite repeated requests, the loan remains pending.
Outraged, Manhar has threatened to go on a hunger strike until action is taken against the manager and his money is returned.
"This is a clear case of corruption and exploitation," Manhar said. "I demand justice and immediate action against the bank manager."
The incident has sparked widespread outrage, with locals demanding a thorough investigation.
The SBI has initiated an inquiry into the matter, and local authorities have assured swift action.
"The allegations are serious, and we will take appropriate measures," said an SBI spokesperson.
The case highlights the vulnerabilities of rural farmers and the need for greater transparency in banking practices.
