Web Desk: The Punjab government has announced the distribution of 20,000 green tractors next fiscal year under a major initiative aimed at supporting farmers and modernizing agriculture.

Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif said the government is committed to helping farmers adopt modern technology and improve agricultural productivity.

She emphasized that advanced machinery has become essential for efficient farming and better crop production.

As part of the Maryam Nawaz farmers package, the government is already providing modern agricultural equipment and machinery to farmers.

Officials say the initiative is designed to reduce production costs and make farming more profitable.

Under the Punjab Green Tractor Scheme, subsidies have been provided on thousands of tractors across the province.

The government has offered a subsidy of Rs1,000,000 on 9,500 high-power tractors to support farmers in expanding their agricultural operations.

In addition, 10,000 tractors ranging from 50 to 65 horsepower are being provided with a subsidy of Rs500,000 each under the tractor subsidy Punjab program.

Officials say the scheme has attracted significant interest from farmers seeking affordable access to machinery.

The chief minister announced that the next phase of the Punjab Green Tractor Scheme will see the distribution of 20,000 green tractors during the upcoming fiscal year. The move is expected to benefit thousands of farmers and strengthen the agricultural sector.

According to officials, the farmers subsidy scheme is part of broader efforts to encourage Punjab agriculture modernization and improve efficiency in farming. Increased use of machinery can help reduce labor costs and boost crop yields.

The government believes the Maryam Nawaz farmers package will provide long-term benefits to rural communities by improving productivity and supporting agricultural growth. The new batch of 20,000 green tractors is expected to play a key role in achieving these goals.

Experts say Punjab agriculture modernization is becoming increasingly important as farmers face rising costs and growing production challenges.

Through the tractor subsidy Punjab initiative, more farmers will be able to access equipment that was previously beyond their financial reach.

Officials added that the Punjab Green Tractor Scheme, the farmers subsidy scheme, and the Maryam Nawaz farmers package are all aimed at creating a stronger and more competitive agricultural sector.

The planned distribution of 20,000 green tractors is being seen as one of the largest support measures for farmers in recent years.
