Pakistan is taking a massive leap toward modernized agriculture through international cooperation. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Gates Foundation Chair Bill Gates recently held a detailed discussion in New York. Their dialogue focused on introducing modern tools to boost crop yields and protect local farms.
The two leaders agreed to work together on emerging agricultural technologies and livestock genetics. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif highlighted national efforts toward climate resilience, biotechnology, and specialized research. This fresh partnership aims to provide local farmers with high-quality seeds and modern tools to strengthen food production.
Expanding Health and Digital Initiatives
Beyond farming, the meeting addressed Pakistan’s continuous efforts to eliminate polio completely. Bill Gates praised the government’s efforts to protect future generations through national vaccination programs. Both leaders reaffirmed their shared goals to improve maternal health, child nutrition, and public immunization schemes.
The leaders also discussed broadening access to financial inclusion, artificial intelligence, and digital innovations. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif expressed deep gratitude for the long term support provided by the Gates Foundation. Before concluding the meeting, the prime minister invited Bill Gates to visit Pakistan again soon.
