Former Passco GM arrested in wheat procurement scandal

LAHORE: (Suno News) The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has arrested Zahoor Ahmad Ranjha, former general manager (GM) of Pakistan Agricultural Storage and Services Corporation (Passco), has been arrested in the wheat procurement corruption case.

According to the FIA spokesperson, the former Passco GM was arrested for fraudulently changing the wheat procurement policy of the Passco managing director (MD).

The FIA spokesperson added, “The policy was changed to buy wheat from aartis instead of farmers. The former Passco general manager issued a policy letter to all district officers with the Passco MD’s signature.”

He further said, “A case has been registered against Zahoor Ahmad Ranjha under the provisions of changing the policy of the Passco MD and issuing the policy letter with the MD’s fake signature. The former Passco MD will also be investigated in this case.”

FIA Lahore Zone Director Sarfraz Khan Virk said the accused is being investigated, adding the wheat scandal is being investigated on merit.
