Donald Trump has declared that he plans to sue the New York Times for $15 billion, accusing the newspaper of defaming him.
The move comes after the Times published articles about Trump’s alleged ties to Jeffrey Epstein, a disgraced financier.
Trump claims these reports contain false information damaging his reputation, his family, and his businesses.
He also said the paper lied about conservative political movements like America First and Make America Great Again (MAGA).
Trump shared the news on his social media platform, Truth Social, calling it a “Great Honor” to bring the lawsuit.
He said the case will be filed in Florida but did not give more details. The New York Times has not responded to the lawsuit announcement.
This lawsuit follows a recent threat from Trump to sue the Times over a sexually suggestive note and drawing linked to Epstein.
