(Web Desk): The Spanish government canceled important military contracts with Israel for its intransigence on the Gaza issue.

According to foreign media, the Spanish government has canceled a contract to purchase $825 million in Israeli-made rocket launchers as a move to increase pressure on Israel over the Gaza issue.

The Spanish government has begun considering taking more stringent measures in this regard, possibly including considering ceasing the use of Israeli-made or Israeli-technology-based weapons used by Spanish forces.

In this regard, Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez said in a statement last week that his government was considering legislation to ban the purchase and sale of weapons from Israel in response to the aggression in Gaza.

The Spanish government has begun preparations to finalize the cancellation of a contract for 168 anti-tank missile launchers, which were to be acquired from an Israeli company on the basis of a transfer of technology.

There has been no Israeli ambassador to Spain since Spain recognized the Palestinian state in 2024.
