Trump confirms five fighter Jets shot down during Pak-India war

(Web Desk): United States President Donald Trump claimed that five fighter jets were shot down during Pak-India escalation, according to foreign media reports.

During Trump’s speech in front of Republican lawmakers Trump highlighted his role in bringing ceasefire to Pak-India war which was erupted after the Pahalgam incident.
Talking about the escalation between two atomic powers, Trump confirmed that five fighter jets were shot down during this aggression. However, he did not disclose the name of the country who shot down these jets.
The conflict between Pakistan and India after the Pahalgam incident which claimed 26 lives. India put the responsibility of this attack on Pakistan soon after the incident occurred without conducting any investigation.
Pakistan denied the accusation and pledged to cooperate fully with an impartial inquiry. Although the United States criticized the attack, it declined to back India s allegations against Pakistan in the absence of evidence.
Amid this conflict Indian military launched airstrikes on several sites of Pakistan on May 7. The French-built rafale aircraft was among five Indian fighter jets that Pakistan claimed to have shot down in a bitter retaliation. On the other hand, India declined to accept the defeat.

Recently, Trump has confirmed that five jets were indeed destroyed, though he didn’t name the country responsible. He added that the situation was getting worse, and he had to step in to stop the war.
Western media reported that India also claimed to shoot down Pakistani aircraft. But Pakistan denied losing any aircraft and challenged India to show evidence.
Later after Trump brokered ceasefire the escalation was ended. At the time of the ceasefire, Trump also offered to mediate the Kashmir dispute. He told both countries, “Let’s work together to solve Kashmir once and for all, even if it takes a thousand years.”
Pakistan immediately accepted the offer and praised Trump’s proposal to resolve a long-standing issue that affects peace in South Asia. However, India rejected the mediation offer and refused to accept Trump’s role in ending the war.
