Eid Milad-un-Nabi: Full security plan for 12th Rabi-ul-Awwal
(Web Desk): The Punjab Home Department has issued comprehensive security directives ahead of Eid Milad un Nabi, set to be observed on 12th Rabi ul Awwal.

Police and administrative bodies have been instructed by the authorities to implement foolproof safety measures modeled after Muharram protocols.

The misuse of loudspeakers, wall-chalking, hate speeches, and aerial firing will face a strict ban. At all mosques, religious sites, and shrines, extra security personnel are to be deployed. Robust protection, with walk-through gates and metal detectors installed at major entry points, must be ensured by the organizers of Milad processions, gatherings, and public assemblies. Registered volunteers are encouraged to assist in security efforts.

The need to prevent inflammatory speeches against any sect, promptly remove abandoned vehicles near processions, and deploy female officers for searches of female attendees has been emphasized by the officials. Procession routes must be cleared of debris, with police stationed on rooftops for surveillance. Additional CCTV cameras connected to district control rooms and the Safe City system will be equipped in sensitive areas. Drones or quadcopters are also mandated for aerial monitoring.

Through meetings of divisional and district committees, peace committees, and public liaison groups (PLCs), intelligence coordination is to be strengthened. Increased police patrols, enforcement of firearm bans, and monitoring under the Sound Systems Regulation Act, 2015, are required. Measures including securing city entry and exit points, protecting prominent figures, and maintaining disaster response readiness—including Rescue 1122, Civil Defense, and health authorities—are being enforced.

Control rooms across districts will remain operational 24/7 with video connectivity to the provincial center, ensuring lighting, clearance of key infrastructure (WAPDA transmission lines and SNGPL pipelines), and audio-video recording at all gatherings. Social media will be monitored for incendiary content by cyber patrol units.

The implementation of these arrangements is being personally overseen by the Deputy Commissioners, DPOs, and senior police officials to maintain law and order until the events have fully concluded.
