(Web Desk): Russian President Vladimir Putin has condemned the killing of Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Khamenei, calling it a brutal act and a clear violation of human ethics and international law.

Ayatollah Khamenei was reportedly killed during attacks on Iran by the United States and Israel. Iranian state media confirmed the assassination, announcing a seven-day national holiday and 40 days of mourning across the country.

Putin expressed deep sorrow in a condolence letter to Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian, strongly condemning the attack on Khamenei.

According to Iranian media, the attack also killed Khamenei’s daughter, son-in-law, and granddaughter. Reports state that the Supreme Leader was performing his official duties in his office when he was assassinated.

The Iranian military has vowed to retaliate and punish the aggressors severely, warning that those responsible wills face the consequences of their actions. Russian media reported that Iran has clearly communicated its intent to seek justice for the attack.
