DUBAI (Web Desk): During heavy rain and unstable weather in various parts of the UAE, a rare and shocking event occurred when lightning struck the world’s tallest building, Burj Khalifa.

The short video of this unusual incident quickly went viral on social media, attracting attention from around the world.

This event happened on Thursday, and the thrilling clip was shared by Dubai Crown Prince and UAE Minister of Defense Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum on his social media account.

In the video, Burj Khalifa stands against a backdrop of dark clouds and a greenish sky. Suddenly, lightning hits the tallest floor of the building, leaving viewers amazed.

Interestingly, just a few hours before sharing the video, Sheikh Hamdan had advised citizens to stay alert due to the incoming unstable weather conditions.

According to the National Center of Meteorology (NCM), on 18 December, a low-pressure system under the Al-Bashayer pattern formed in the UAE, causing unstable weather.

The NCM added that surface low pressure spreading from the Red Sea affected the UAE, resulting in thunderstorms, strong winds, and hail in some areas. Severe rain and hail were reported in Sharjah and Ras Al Khaimah as well.

Authorities have advised citizens to follow official weather warnings, avoid unnecessary travel, and take precautions to stay safe.
