Iran’s President Masoud Pezeshkian has said that the country is willing to bring the ongoing conflict with the United States and Israel to an end, but only if strong guarantees are given that fighting will not resume in the future.
According to Iranian media, Pezeshkian shared this position during a telephone conversation with European Council President António Costa. He stressed that Iran needs assurance that it will not face future attacks before agreeing to stop the current hostilities.
He also said that Iran respects the sovereignty of neighboring countries and has no intention of harming them. However, he suggested that targeting US bases in those countries may remain an option if tensions continue.
Pezeshkian added that the strength of Iran’s military and the unity of its people have helped the country manage difficult situations during the ongoing conflict. He credited internal stability for supporting Iran’s response.
Earlier, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi stated that Iran is not only seeking a temporary ceasefire but wants a complete and lasting end to the war. This shows that Tehran is aiming for a long-term resolution rather than short-term pauses.

In an interview with Arab media, the foreign minister said that Iran has received indirect messages from the US Special Representative. However, he clarified that no formal negotiations are taking place, although some security-related discussions are ongoing through Pakistan.
Meanwhile, Iran’s Revolutionary Guards have issued a warning, stating that if attempts to target Iranian leadership continue, they may respond by taking action against American technology companies.
The situation remains tense, but these statements suggest that indirect communication channels are active, and both sides are being cautious about further escalation.
